📄 How do I upload a document and start automatic e-learning course generation?

🧭 Step 1: Create a new course

  • Go to the Courses area

  • Click Create a course in the top right

  • Fill in:

    • Course name

    • Description (optional)

    • Target audience (optional), used by the AI to adapt the tone and level

📤 Step 2: Upload your learning file

  • Accepted formats: .pdf, .doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx, .txt

  • Each file corresponds to one chapter

  • You can add as many files as you need (one at a time, one course generation after another)

  • The size limit per file is 25 MB

✅ As soon as you confirm your first document, the analysis starts automatically.

🧠 Step 3: Automatic generation of the topics

  • The system identifies the key learning topics from your document

  • You then see these topics on screen

  • You can:

    • Approve the suggestion

    • Reorder the topics (drag & drop)

    • Edit them or ask the AI for a new suggestion if needed

⚠️ If the document contains little structured content, generation still works but will suggest fewer topics.

🎨 Step 4: Customize the palette and the video backgrounds

At this step, you choose the visual identity of the course, which will be applied to every video generated:

  • Color palette, pre-filled with your branding colors (from your settings)

  • Video backgrounds, select the backgrounds used in the video slides (intro, topic, conclusion, etc.)

💡 Tip: set up your branding first in Settings → Branding so that the palette is pre-filled automatically for every new course.

⚙️ Step 5: Set up the activities

For each topic, EdBuild AI can automatically generate:

  • Multiple-choice quiz

  • Single-choice quiz

  • Fill in the blanks

  • Drag and drop

  • Flashcards

  • Glossary

  • Video (avatar + voice)

  • Audio podcast (two-voice conversation or narration)

You choose the activity types you want for each topic.
You can also add to or edit the generated activities manually.

For the whole course or for each individual activity, you can set:

  • Difficulty level

  • Estimated duration

  • Language

  • Video voice & avatar if you want a video activity

  • Number of activities you want per topic

🎬 Step 6: Preview the video storyboard

Before the final video is rendered, EdBuild AI shows you a storyboard: a slide-by-slide view with the transcript text and a visual preview.

  • Review each slide (avatar script, visuals, background)

  • Edit the transcript directly (changes are saved continuously)

  • Reorder or delete slides

  • Reposition the elements (avatar bubble, visuals, logo) by dragging them directly on the slide

  • Start the final video generation once you are happy with the storyboard

⏳ Generation and tracking

  • Generating the topics: about 2 minutes

  • Generating the storyboard: about 1 to 2 minutes

  • Generating the text activities (multiple-choice quizzes, glossary, etc.): about 2 to 4 minutes

  • Final video rendering: up to 30 minutes (started once the storyboard is approved)

  • A progress bar and a timer show you how far along it is

💡 The text activities are generated in parallel so that you can review the quizzes and glossary while the videos are being finalized.

🔁 Need to start over?

At any time, you can:

  • Change the generation settings

  • Restart generation from a given topic

  • Have the AI regenerate the content by writing a short text explaining what you would prefer for the next generation

  • Add a new chapter with a new document (as many PDFs as you like, each PDF = a new chapter)
