📦 How do I export a course (SCORM, xAPI, cmi5, H5P…)

✅ Export is available to every user on a paid plan (Starter, Pro or Enterprise).
Once your course has been created and published, you can indeed export it in the format of your choice to integrate it into another, external LMS (Moodle, 360Learning, RiseUp, and so on).

🎯 What is exporting a course for?

Exporting lets you deliver all or part of a course created with EdBuild AI on an LMS or through usable files, while keeping:

  • the instructional structure,

  • the content generated by AI,

  • and your branding.

You can choose exactly what you export (topics, activities) as well as the output format.

🔎 Where do I find the export option?

Export can be reached from two places in the platform.

1️⃣ From a course page

  1. Go to Courses

  2. Open the course concerned

  3. Click Export

👉 This option is ideal for a quick export when you are working on a specific course.

2️⃣ From the course list (⋯ menu)

  1. Go to Courses

  2. Find the course you want to export

  3. Click the three dots (⋯) to the right of the course

  4. Click Export

👉 This method lets you export a course without having to open it.

🧩 Partial or multiple export within a course

When exporting, you can:

  • Select one or more chapters

  • Select one or more topics

  • Select one or more activities (video, multiple-choice quiz, quiz, and so on)

  • Run an export that generates one or more files, depending on your selection

👉 Example:
You can export 4 activities into 4 separate files in a single action.

⚠️ Export applies to one course at a time.

📦 Available export formats

🎓 LMS / e-learning formats

  • SCORM 2004 – 4th edition

  • SCORM 1.2

  • cmi5

  • xAPI

  • H5P

👉 The format to choose depends on the requirements of your LMS.

📄 Office formats

  • DOCX: editable content (Word)

  • PDF/MP4: delivery or archiving

  • XLS: structured data (e.g. quizzes, questions, answers)

⏳ Videos still generating: the export is blocked

You cannot start an export while the course videos are still being generated. A blocking message appears in the Export tab and tells you which videos are still processing.

This block is deliberate. Our exports are static: an export started too early would produce an incomplete file, with the other activities present but an error message in place of the videos.

Exported files can include:

  • your logo

  • your colors

  • your visual identity

👉 Ideal for delivering turnkey courses, branded for you or for your clients.
